In March 2019 we raised £740 for the Island Games committee to support Team IOW.

In February 2019 we put together a “Future High Street” funding bid for Newport, which we won! This has resulted in a cash sum for Newport, solely ear-marked for town improvements.

In January 2019 we challenged the on-street parking charge proposals – causing a deferment of the charges – and requested that a thorough parking consultation is carried out without delay. In February 2019 we appealed against the proposed overnight parking charges.

In Nov/Dec 2018 we supported the St John’s Church Angel Festival, and commissioned artwork by students of the VI th form College which members then displayed for the Festival.

In 2018 we became one-third owners of “Shaping Newport” (the plan outlining the results of the Newport Regeneration consultation) which means that the IW Council now regards the NBA as an important stakeholder regarding the future of Newport. Yes, our opinions actually count!
